Inclusive education in the Republic of Moldova: clear objectives, strong engagement, responsible policies

Press release

ChildPact and The Alliance of Active NGO’s in the Field of Social Protection of Family and Child (APSCF) jointly support the launch of the new policy brief “Inclusive education in the Republic of Moldova: clear objectives, strong engagement, responsible policies” in the Republic of Moldova.

Ensuring the right to quality education for children and young people is a fundamental right in the Republic of Moldova. The Alliance of Active NGO’s in the Field of Social Protection of Family and Child (APSCF)  and ChildPact welcome the second objective of the Action Plan for the implementation of the national plan for social inclusion for the persons with disabilities for the years 2017-2022. The objectives of the Action Plan decided by the government are a good starting point for the implementation of inclusive education and for ensuring the right to quality education for all children and young people with disabilities. The positive experience registered in the pilot schools that benefited from inclusive education programs demonstrate that school environment is more friendly and accessible for all children when adequate support is provided. Both children with special needs and their colleagues can benefit from inclusive education programs.

APSCF and ChildPact advocate for the establishment of a mechanism to financially sustain and manage the funds meant to meet the government objectives in a realistic manner.
