During its four-day visit in Serbia, the delegation of the Executive Board of UNICEF from New York met MODS representatives.
The meeting, held in Nis, on the 19th of April, was on opportunity for the members of the Network to introduce their activities to the UNICEF delegation. The representatives of various member organizations presented the key thematic areas of the Network’s activities in terms of improving the situation of children and families with children in Serbia. The delegation members were very interested to hear from MODS and talked about models of cooperation with state institutions at all levels. The members of the UNICEF delegation were: Ambassador Jarmo Viinanen from Finland (Chairman of the delegation), Ambassador Ferit Hoxha from Albania, Ambassador George Wilfred Talbot from Guyana, John Mosoti from Kenya and Hossein Gharibi of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Delegation was accompanied by the Executive Board Secretary, Nicolas Pron.
The aim of the visit to Serbia was know the state of children and their families in the country and to review the priorities, strategies and outcomes of the program of cooperation between UNICEF and the Government of the Republic of Serbia regarding the improvement of the situation of children, and social inclusion.
